Unbroken (theatre MP)

Normally I shy away from any project that includes the Jolie-Pitt family. Today, I went to see Unbroken with my mom and aunt.

It was a difficult film to watch. Louie Zampernini was played by Jack O'Connell was well played. It did feel a bit contrived in my opinion. It seemed like it was made only to garner Oscar buzz.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to downplay what happened to this man. He was lost at see for more than 43 days. He was interred in two POW camps. Severely beaten and this was only 2-3 years of his life.

He was part of an immigrant family and was a very troubled youth. Smoking, stealing, drinking all by the age of ten. His older brother encouraged him to join the track team and from there, his life had meaning.

Yes, this was a big budget film and it had all the makings of being a good film. But for me, it just fell short.

What did you think? Talk to me soon.
